Marc Marquez will not be involved when the 2021 season begins with two rounds in Qatar this weekend.

Marc Marquez will miss the start of the new MotoGP season in Qatar as his new surgery still have to recover, and his doctors advise him to take a rest for few more weeks. Marc Marquez out of the Qatar Grand Prix.

Last year when Motogp witnessed first-time races without any audience because of the pandemic of Covid-19, The six-time world champion was unable to defend his title as he broke the humerus bone in his right arm following a two-time fall during the first race, staged at Jerez.

Till that time Marquez underwent three operations – the last of which was carried out in December following the discovery of an infection in the fracture – but was cleared to intensify his training regime last month.

  • However, Marquez confirms that he will not be part of the season opener race of the year 2021 in Qatar.

The 2021 MotoGP schedule kicks off this weekend with the Qatar Grand Prix, while the Losail International Circuit is also the venue for the Doha Grand Prix, which takes place on April 4.

  • The 2021 FIM MotoGP World Championship season opener Barwa Grand Prix of Qatar will be held on March 28 under lights at Losail.
  • The Indian audience can catch the action live on Eurosport/Eurosport HD from the qualifying race on the previous day. The same will also be live-streamed on discovery+.
