Sachin Tendulkar’s name in Pandora Papers Leak, accused of hiding property information

There has been an uproar around the world regarding the Pandora Papers. There are names of many people in this list who have tried to hide their wealth. The name of Sachin Tendulkar, the master blaster of Indian cricket, is also in this list.
The revelations of the Pandora Papers of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists have created a stir. These documents leaked on Sunday have created a stir in 91 countries around the world including India.

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICJI) comprises over 150 media groups from around the world, including the BBC and The Guardian, as well as India’s Indian Express. The ICIJ has claimed that it has got more than 1.19 crore confidential files, which has exposed the secret transactions of the rich.
The report claimed that the ‘confidential documents include the names of Indian cricket master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, pop music star Shakira, supermodel Claudia Schiffer and the Italian mobster known as ‘Lane the Fat One’.
According to this, ‘Sachin Tendulkar’s counsel has stated that his investment has been valid and declared to the tax authorities. Shakira’s lawyer says that her companies do not get any tax benefit. At the same time, Schiffer’s lawyer said that she collects taxes in the UK.
Pakistan is 7th and India 6th in terms of the number of politicians hiding information related to their properties. Pandora Papers has caused an earthquake in Pakistan, because it includes the names of ministers and close friends of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Imran Khan’s spokesperson said that if any of his ministers or advisers have confidential assets, then their accountability will be fixed.
The ICIJ’s Pandora Papers list also includes the names of the King of Jordan, the Presidents of Ukraine, Kenya and Ecuador, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. These documents also reveal the activities of the ‘informal propaganda minister’ of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It has the names of more than 130 billionaires from many countries of the world including Russia, America.
According to ICIJ, it has received these documents from 14 companies that form shell companies and try to hide the financial transactions of their clients. ICIJ documents have revealed about 956 companies linked to 336 powerful politicians from around the world.
